Below is the Profile for my character, Geoffrey. This can also be used as reference.
Basic Information
Name: Geoffrey Akins
Nickname: None
Reason For Nickname: None
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Being: Human
Contract Partner: Editha Primrose
Character Information
Personality:
Despite all that has gone on in his life, not to mention all of his day to day duties, Geoffrey is an oddly chipper and happy young man. He is rarely in a down mood, and if he ever is, it is only when he is alone. Even during alone time, however, he is usually rather happy. He prefers, on the whole, to look at the brighter side of life.
This is not to say that he is all sunshine and rainbows, however. He can sling sarcasm with the best of them; albeit always with a smile; and has little pity for anyone or anything to speak of. He cares little for the betterment of other people and works only towards his own gains. He can step on the backs of the people below him all the while asking them with a pleasant smile and a face of light if they'd like some tea. He is not a cruel man, however. Although he has no qualms killing if he has to, he would never do so without a reason. And while he lives only for himself, he is not totally opposed to sharing. In fact, many of the banquets and balls he holds are open to the public; allowing even the poorest of paupers to attend.
When it comes to people's feelings about him, Geoffrey generally adapts a uncaring attitude. He doesn't give a damn what people think about him, and rumors and gossip pass off of him like water off of tarp. The one thing that gets under his skin is pity. He doesn't feel as if he deserves any, and hates it when people attribute pity to him. He isn't afraid to say as much, either.
In fact, he isn't afraid to say anything. He is the kind of guy who will speak his mind with little care as to who it will affect and how. He doesn't concern himself with hurting others' feelings or offending them. He also has little censorship when it comes to what he says.
There are very few times where Geoffrey is at rest, at a calm and intermediate state. Those times are when he is practicing his hobbies. He loves to paint, and when he's not hosting a party or attending to other duties, he can often be found in his own little private studio. Should someone interrupt him at this activity they will likely see him in a rare state of anger, as there is little he hates more than to be disturbed while painting.
Another hobby of his is the recreational use of guns. He enjoys practicing with fake targets and cans and such, although he never hunts. He also always carries a pistol around with him, both because he enjoys having it with him, and for use as a weapon if need be. His aim isn't bad either, in fact, he's quite good with a gun in his hand.
Special Interests/Hobbies: Painting and Gun play.
Character Weaknesses Not taking things seriously enough, and having an exaggerated sense of invincibility.
Appearance:
In appearance, Geoffrey is the typical young man, for the most part. Standing at 5'9", he is tall and lanky. With little muscle to speak of, his lithe appearance makes him look as though he never eats enough. Although that is far from the truth. Despite his thin appearance, he is quite the healthy young man. His skin, though a pale white, shines with a healthy glow. Perhaps it is left over from his vibrant personality.
Dusty blond hair frames a thin face. It tickles over two glittering silver-blue eyes that almost always seem lit with boyish mischief and charm. A long, thin neck leads to an equally thin body, which is anything but unmarked. Silver tattoos spiral up his arms, starting at his wrists. On his torso, those tattoos join a spider-web pattern that cover most of his front. Every line on that pattern stems from an axis which lies directly over his heart. That axis is a Faustian Seal; the mark of the contract with a demon.
His particular mark has the base of a normal pentagram, a circle surrounding a star. But rather than having five points, the star is multi-layered and has ten points. When it glows, it glows with a silver aura.
Clothing wise, Geoffrey doesn't spend much of his extravence on dressing himself. He wears the clothes befitting of a noble, although perhaps not always at the right time. His favorite clothing consists of a military-style, silver jacket made of the highest quality fibers. But rather than wearing a white blouse beneath, as is the custom, he often goes with the jacket alone. He wears pants of a similar style, although these are of an alabaster shade. Black shoes set off the whole look. And as if to rebel against his mostly matching outfit, atop his head sits a worn, chestnut colored, trilby hat. He often touches it, especially when he is nervous or concerned. It is usually the only sign of such feelings.
History:
Geoffrey has not lived in London all of his life. He was born in a small stone cottage in the unclaimed countryside of Scotland. His father was a scottish shepherd, his mother a homemaker who was born many years ago in Sweden. It was she that gave Geoffrey his blond hair and pale skin. In the year of 1874, Geoffrey was born. His early life was rather normal, despite them living as paupers. Even as a little boy he was cheerful, always smiling for his parents and anyone else who happened to come by.
When he reached the age of eight, he began to help his father at his work. Usually, he would watch the sheep and take over the job of shepherd while his father worked at other household duties, such as chopping and stacking wood and other such tasks. But as Geoffrey got older, those tasks fell to him instead, while his aging father returned to the sheep. Easily excitable, it was a rare day when Geoffrey didn't find himself in some sort of trouble.
The worst of all was when he was about eleven years old. Young Geoffrey had wondered into the forest that was a short distance from their home. Expecting to find friendly animals and a new world all it's own, he instead wandered into the sett of a badger family. With a sow that had recently kitted, the family was particularly protective of their home. Enraged at the intrusion, they chased after the young boy, and although they didn't wound him badly, they did manage to get in a few well-placed cuts. Bleeding, sobbing, and shaken, Geoffrey ran home. Although his mother fixed him up right quick, a few of the scratches remained and still remain as scars, now covered by tattoos.
During winter in his twelfth year, he traveled with his father into the nearest village for supplies. While the older man was busy making sales and speaking with local friends, the curious Geoffrey wandered off. Consumed by awe for this new place, he traveled much father than he had realized. When he turned to find his father, he discovered that he was lost.
Terrified, the boy tried to backtrack, but rather than succeed he managed to get himself even more turned around. By the time, he had managed to find his way deep into the woods. After another hour or so of searching, during which he only moved further away, he curled into a ball and laid upon the forest floor. In the dank chill, he developed an illness while he slept.
When he awoke he was sick and miserable. He tried again to find the village, but with no sense of direction he had no chance. By the time night came again, his sickness had developed into something far more serious. Eventually, he simply could not go on any further, and once again found a place to rest. This time, with little intention of getting back up.
However, Geoffrey doesn't remember any of this.
His earliest memory is that of waking up to Editha's presence. Although he knew well who and what she was, and even why she was there, he had no other recollections of everything that had happened before.
Meanwhile in London, an ancient family was coming to it's end. The last in it's line, an aging man, was on his deathbed. And when the news reached Geoffrey, he decided then and there that that was the place for him. And using Editha's help, he managed to worm his way into the House, wherein he adopted the last name Akins.
Although born with barely a penny to his name, Geoffrey now sits at the head of one of the influential families of England, and he fits the role as well as if he were truly born into it. And so far as anyone else knows, he was.
